October Comforts

October brings a noticeable shift, with cooler mornings, darker evenings and a growing appreciation for getting home, shutting the door and hunkering down.

We’re enjoying the change of season at Beaumont & Brown, and - as always - there’s plenty happening behind the scenes. We have some lovely new products arriving soon - watch this space!

We’ve also just launched our gorgeous new socks. These are no ordinary socks, but properly cosy bed socks, made for chilly mornings and the first few cold evenings. Add a beautifully scented candle, a pot of tea and somewhere comfortable to put your feet up, and October really is looking rather appealing!

There’s something to be said for the simple pleasures at this time of year, so, as the evenings draw in, we’ll be making the most of them. And when it’s time to turn in, an exceptionally lovely bed is rather hard to beat.

PLANTING - SPRING BULBS
It may feel slightly premature to be thinking about spring, but October is the time to get bulbs in the ground! We’re planting daffodils, tulips and narcissi, for the promise of colourful cheer after winter.

COOKING - ALL THE APPLES!
The apple trees are doing their thing, and we’re making the most of it. Apple cake, tarte tatin, crumble - or simply stewed with a little sugar and then dolloped on top of our morning porridge. There’s really no shortage of good things to do with an apple.

ENJOYING - AUTUMN STROLLS
October is a good month for getting long sunday strolls in before the weather really turns. Somewhere with lovely views and a decent pub at the end normally gets our vote.
