Choosing Pillows & Duvets if you have Allergies

In News

If you have allergies, it is important to choose bedding that is hypoallergenic. This means that it is designed to be less likely to trigger an allergic reaction. To choose the right duvet and pillows, consider the following tips:

Look for bedding made from materials that are naturally hypoallergenic, such as cotton or wool. These materials are less likely to harbour dust mites, mould, and other allergens that can trigger allergic reactions.

Choose a duvet cover and pillowcases and/or duvets and pillows covered with a high thread count 100% Cotton casing. Higher thread count fabrics are denser and less likely to collect dust and other allergens.

If you are particularly sensitive to allergens, you may want to consider purchasing a duvet and pillows that are treated with an allergy-reducing finish. This type of treatment can help to reduce the amount of allergens that collect on the bedding. Look for labels like NOMITE and or Okeo/Tex.

Finally, be sure to wash your bedding regularly to keep it clean and allergen-free. Use hot water and a high-quality Eco-Friendly laundry detergent to kill any dust mites or other allergens that may be present. You can also use toppers to help keep your bed clean and hygienic.
